Rich in anti-inflammatory compounds, sage reduces swelling by contracting the walls of the veins. Put 6 teaspoons of dried sage in 3 cups of boiling water for 30 minutes (double if you're treating both legs) and strain it.
Dip a medium-sized towel into the infusion and gently drain. Sit in a place where you can put your feet up (above your heart level) and wrap the towel around the leg with varicose veins.
