ABROTANO (Artemisa abrotanum) AND ITS PROPERTIES

The Abrótano is a plant of European origin, which is one meter high and whose stems are creeping. There are two species called male and female, of which the first is the one used for therapeutic purposes.

Properties: It has stimulating properties, tonic, antispasmodic and emenagogues (to provoke menstruation), for which it is not indicated in pregnant women.

How to use: For lack of appetite, languor and weakness of the stomach. Prepare an infusion with 10 grams of t leaves in a liter of water and drink one cup before meals.
As a vermifuge (to shed intestinal parasites). Prepare the same infusion and drink a cup half an hour before food.


Against epilepsy: 2 grams of root are sprayed and added to a cup of hot tea and taken slowly at the onset of the attack.

Against hysteria: 10 grams of leaves are boiled in a liter of water and taken 3 to 4 cups a day sweetened to taste with honey.


Against the rules or delayed menses: Fifteen minutes of 7 to 10 grams of leaves are boiled in half a liter of water, or in a liter of boiling water add a pinch of abrótano, a pinch of chamomile, a pinch of wormwood (stalks), a pinch of rue, a hint of horehound and a pinch of melissa and a pinch of chalky flowers. Boil for 30 seconds, let stand, strain and drink 3 to 4 cups daily, sweetened with a little honey.
