Currently, administered as juice has a proven efficacy against gout, and also in case of difficult digestions taken in infusion; is also a stimulant of metabolic exchanges. It is popularly used as a stimulant appetite tonic, as a stomach in digestive disorders, for cough as an expectorant, and in case of renal and rheumatic conditions.
It was used as a gargle, in hot poultices, and in the preparation of antirheumatic and dermal baths.
Digestive and anticatarral veronica infusion
An infusion of veronica can be made for the difficult digestions, and against the cold and bronchitis, adding to a cup of boiling water a teaspoon of dry and crumbled plant. Let stand 5 minutes. Filter and take about 2 or 3 cups a day.
Appetizer composed of veronica and other plants
To a cup of boiling water add a mixture of 50 grams of vernal floral tops, 10 grams of black currant leaves, 10 grams of matricaria bitter herb, and 5 grams of crumbled ororuz root. Let stand 10 minutes. Filter and drink before eating.
Juice of veronica for pulmonary affections,
renal and rheumatic
For the described applications a juice can be elaborated by crushing a handful of fresh veronica grass in a mortar, introducing the paste into a cloth and squeezing it tightly. Take several times throughout the day in portions of about 50 grams. This juice is also useful for stimulating metabolic exchanges
